(Colonial time photos from "The sacrificed generation" )
I was very fortunate to receive 2 greats books for Xmas: one is Hama Tuma's "Give me a dog's life any day, African absurdities" given by Mosi ( and it's not atually about a dog ! Great fake there, Mosi) . I will tell you about this highly sarcastic book in a next post. The other is "The Sacrificed Generation" by Lesley Sharp about youth, history and the colonized mind in Madagascar. ( with a tremendous take on the "Franz Fanon vs Mannoni" comparison) Some photos from the book, after the jump.
"The Sacrificed Generation" is a great read about post-colonial Madagascar. I have not put down since I started it. So if you are interested, here is a link to the book.
I discuss the passage about the meaning of the title over here in French.
